海峡两岸计划举行联合海上搜救演习 Taiwan, China Planning Joint Maritime Exercise
台湾和中国大陆筹划本星期在两岸之间的台湾海峡海域举行联合海上搜救演练。
台湾和香港媒体报导说，台湾的海巡署和中国的海上搜救中心星期四将举行这次联合演习。演习将在靠近由台湾管辖的12个金门岛屿和中国沿海城市厦门之间的水域举行。
台湾在1949年的内战之后跟中国大陆分治。中国大陆宣称台湾是其领土的一部分。
为了避免这次演习带来政治上的争议，双方将不在船只上悬挂国旗，而是悬挂一个联合演习的旗帜。

Taiwan and mainland China are planning a large joint maritime search and rescue exercise this week in the waters of the Taiwan Strait.
News accounts in Taiwan and Hong Kong say Taiwan's Coast Guard and China's Maritime Search and Rescue Center will hold the joint drill on Thursday. The exercise will be held in the waters near the 12 Kinmen islands administered by Taiwan and the Chinese coastal city of Xiamen.
Taiwan and China split amid civil war in 1949, and the mainland claims the island as part of its territory.
To avoid political controversy for the exercise, neither side will fly its national flag. Instead, Taiwan and China will both raise a joint-exercise flag.
Taiwan says it will send nine patrol boats and helicopters for the drill. It is not known how many Chinese vessels will participate.
