在华盛顿,美国国务卿克林顿通过视像会议为上海世博会的美国馆揭幕。克林顿感谢员工和赞助商推出这一项目。她说,游客将通过美国馆更了解美国。她称赞说,上海世博会给人们提供了展望未来的机会。
预计将有7000多万游客参加世博会,至少有190个国家参展。世博会将于星期六正式向公众开放。

President Hu Jintao welcomed world leaders, including French President Nicolas Sarkozy, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and others attending the opening of the six-month long Expo.
In Washington, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton opened the U.S.A. Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo via a videoconference. She thanked employees and sponsors for launching the project, which she says will enable visitors to get better acquainted with the United States. She praised the Shanghai event as an opportunity to preview the future.
More than 70 million visitors are expected to attend the Expo, which will feature exhibits from at least 190 nations. The Expo officially opens its doors to the public on Saturday.
