中国：失踪律师未受折磨 (China: Missing Lawyer Not Tortured)
中国外长杨洁篪少有地谈到失踪的中国维权律师高智晟。杨洁篪说，高智晟没有受到折磨。
杨洁篪是星期二在北京与英国外交大臣米利班德会面后举行的记者会上谈到高智晟案件的。杨洁篪说，高智晟的权利受到保护。他还说，高智晟因为颠覆国家政权罪被判处监禁。杨洁篪没有对高智晟目前在何处发表评论。杨洁篪也没有说高智晟的刑期是否就是2006年12月他被判缓刑的刑期。
高智晟2009年2月被警察关押后失踪，从那以后没有人听到他的消息。英国外交大臣米利班德对记者说，他同杨洁篪会谈时提到高智晟案件和其他令人关注的人权问题。
China's foreign minister has made rare comments about missing dissident lawyer Gao Zhisheng, saying the activist is not being tortured.
Yang Jiechi discussed Gao's case Tuesday in Beijing during a press conference with visiting British Foreign Secretary David Miliband.Yang said Gao's rights are being protected, and that he has been sentenced to prison for subverting state power.The minister did not comment on the activist's location, or say whether the prison term was the same suspended sentence handed to Gao in December 2006.
Gao disappeared into police custody in February 2009, and has not been heard from since.The British foreign secretary told reporters that he raised Gao's case and other human rights concerns in his meeting with Yang。
