美国总统奥巴马说,他和印度总理辛格有关气候变化的会谈有所进展,双方将合作打击恐怖主义和其它跨国威胁。奥巴马总统在联合记者会上说,他接受了印度总理辛格的邀请,明年将访问印度。
奥巴马说,印度是一个正在崛起且负责任的世界强国。奥巴马还说,他认为美国和印度将保持长久的伙伴关系,他已经将扩展双边合作视为美国外交的首要任务。奥巴马总统说,美国和印度能并肩合作,致力于经济复苏,为美国和印度创造更多的就业机会。他还表示,他和印度总理辛格都希望下个月在哥本哈根召开的气候变化会议能有个成功的结果。
President Barack Obama says he and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made progress in talks on climate change, and will work together to fight terrorism and other transnational threats.At a joint press appearance, Mr. Obama said he accepted an invitation from the prime minister to visit India next year.
He described India as a rising and responsible global power. He said he believes the relationship between the United States and India will be an enduring partnership and he has made it a priority to broaden bilateral cooperation.He said the United States and India can work together for economic recovery and create jobs for both Americans and Indians.The president said he and prime minister want a successful outcome to the talks next month in Copenhagen on climate change.

President Gloria Arroyo has declared an indefinite state of emergency in parts of the southern Philippines, following the massacre of at least 46 people.Police and soldiers found 22 bodies in a mass grave Tuesday, adding to the 24 bullet-riddled bodies recovered near the scene of Monday's massacre in Maguindanao province on Mindanao island. Several people are still reported missing.On Monday, gunmen attacked a convoy of journalists and supporters of a gubernatorial candidate who were traveling to file nominating papers for local elections next May. The victims were taken to a remote area and killed.
Local officials say some of them were mutilated and beheaded before being left in shallow graves.President Arroyo said no effort will be spared to bring justice to the victims and hold the perpetrators accountable.
